Director of Commercial and Stakeholder Engagement

Stakeholder engagement and chief commercial officer.

JOB OBJECTIVE

creates a stakeholder management/relationship structure for the department that is in line with the company’s stakeholder strategy;
assuming responsibility as the principal keeper of the Supply Chain Management Policy and associated practices.
having commercial management of the end-to-end procurement management process, including tenders and management of signing agreements with successful tenderers afterward;
overseeing strategic logistics to ensure prompt product delivery to agents and clients;
extensive management of stakeholders in relation to strategic issues involving regulators, Transnet, port facilities, local governments, and community organizations.

As the chief custodian of the SLP and Mining Charter’s non-Human Resource Management parts, you are responsible for assuring performance and compliance with the yearly reporting obligations.

Service Provision
delivers services in accordance with best practices by:

putting into practice and overseeing commercial plans that guarantee the market entry of manganese products in accordance with predetermined targets;
establishing and keeping connections with important internal interest groups and divisions;
enhancing the company’s competitive edge by participating in national industry forums and external networking.
Managing engagement with stakeholders across local authorities, government, statutory and non-statutory organisations, industry & business, land & property, communities, and other parties to develop solid working relationships, in cooperation with relevant departmental heads and EXCO.
Stakeholder engagement strategies should be created and successfully executed in accordance with the overall stakeholder engagement strategy.
managing stakeholder mapping, creating stakeholder messaging, and quickly and efficiently responding to stakeholder inquiries.coordinating and participating in stakeholder meetings with operational personnel, and ensuring that requests and feedback from stakeholders are addressed by functional teams in a timely manner.
focuses process optimisation on the company’s strategic advantage / competitive edge; conducts regular commercial practice audits to find possibilities for improvement; drives continuous system improvement processes; maps business processes to assess lines of business for expansion.
preparing the company for meetings with stakeholders by providing briefings and assistance.
ensuring that a stakeholder database contains reliable audit trails of all stakeholder engagements and all contacts/activities.

Operations are supervised by:

identifying the business value chain and integrating it with the strategy and business plan of the company;
by assuming the lead role in spotting potential business opportunities and creating expert bids that adequately decrease risk and are reasonably priced.
managing the pricing, logistics, and execution of contracts;
arranging and managing the logistics of workshops, roundtables, and forums, including creating agendas, project plans, taking minutes, and producing reports
participating in face-to-face meetings, group planning sessions, and progress reporting.
Provide ideas and produce insightful reports for submissions to the board, board committee, and EXCO.
establishes and adheres to authorized operating and capital expenditure budget restrictions.
reporting cost variances and coming up with strategies to reduce unfavorable variations.
People Administration
ensures continued efficiency in the management of employees and contractors by:

putting in place mechanisms for performance management, skill and career development, and succession planning.
Relationship Administration

Through managing the company’s strategic relationships with Transnet, governing bodies, and rivals, the company’s competitive edge and standing within the sector are strengthened.
desired qualifications and experience
a graduate degree at NQF Level 7 or an equivalent level,
dealing with Transnet at the senior management level for at least ten years, as well as expertise in stakeholder engagement with government agencies.
Knowledge, abilities, and experience.

a significant track record of managing stakeholder involvement;
understanding of the political climate surrounding infrastructure;
knowledge of creating and effectively implementing stakeholder engagement strategies;
Demonstrated ability to multitask and work under time constraints, react fast to changing circumstances in complicated environments, write responses and narratives effectively and swiftly, and apply initiative.

a demonstrable knowledge of labor and mining laws;
