A company headquartered in Westmead is seeking a Technician to become a member of their dynamic team. The subsequent attributes will be possessed by the optimal candidate:
The role entails providing support in the repair of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of a variety of equipment including compression/flexural machines, scales, ovens, pumps, and centrifuges. Additionally, the individual is tasked with performing SANAS calibrations and verifications on the aforementioned machinery, which are accredited by the organization.
Duties and obligations
CREDITS AND OBLIGATIONS
The execution of technician functions includes the following:
Customers’ incoming repair equipment is received and the check-in process is finalized.
Timely compilation of consumer quotations through the use of the quote book.
Performing all customer work in accordance with the registration in/tag/job card/SAN system. In order to meet quality control standards, the equipment must be repaired utilizing root cause analysis to identify all defects. The work must be completed expeditiously and verified for accuracy through testing.
Utilize stock codes to coordinate the ordering of spare parts and ensure that no stock losses transpire by comparing inventory to Pastel records.
Assuring that all delivery notes or SANS are duly signed and accurately invoiced against the SAN/job card, and that costings and invoicing can be processed within 24 hours subsequent to the conclusion of a job or excursion.
Efficiently organizing and scheduling repairs and calibrations, both in the workshop and on-site, to minimize superfluous expenditures and redundant travel.
Accept responsibility for the use and protection of all company assets and resources, including vehicles, cellphones, inventory, and more, during workshop and on-site excursions.
In all interactions, provide meticulous customer service to promote customer contentment and encourage repeat purchases. This includes responding to customers’ email and telephone inquiries and attempting to cross-sell new products in situations where repairs are not appropriate.
Assist in maintaining SANAS and verification procedures and standards:
Conducting SANAS calibrations and additional verifications in accordance with SANAS specifications and company procedures. Please consult the appendix.
Ensuring the dependability and verifiability of loadcells and other testing/measuring equipment by performing and maintaining all inspections.
Carrying out all pertinent administrative tasks related to verifications and calibrations
Managing the certificate system and expediting the completion of certificates.
Contribute to the maintenance of SHEQ by:
Taking on first aid responsibilities on-site.
Assembling and disseminating safety and SANAS minutes to all pertinent stakeholders.
Supervising SHEQ’s weekly and monthly checklist obligations.
Utilize equipment in adherence to safety standards as needed, including operating the lathe; perform welding operations on-site or internally in regards to agreed-upon repairs.
Providing support to the organization in adhering to SANAS standards, health and safety regulations, and laws, while ensuring that all employees’ well-being is protected. This entails having accountability for both the Company Pool car and the Generator.
General Responsibilities:
Conducting oneself in a moral and honest manner throughout all engagements with personnel, clients, and vendors.
Supervising the personnel who were seconded to aid in the accomplishment of tasks designed to enhance the quality of repairs and newly manufactured products.
Occasional assistance with deliveries and collections for both organizations.
Maintain initiative while working unsupervised.
Assist with routine maintenance as required by the job description.

REQUIRED COMPETITION AND KNOWLEDGE:
Matriculation with pertinent technical expertise favored (Millwright/Fitter or an analogous model).
Proven repair expertise and pertinent experience, including problem-solving, fault-finding, mechanical/electrical repair, and calibration exposure.
Abilities including the operation of drills, welders, and other workshop tools and equipment.
Although a member of the team, this individual is capable of operating autonomously, is committed to achieving absolute accuracy in their tasks, and is concerned with the proper operation of every machine.
